Into the Wild blog #3

Some of the things I've learned about Chris are:
1. Exciting
2. Intrested in odd things
3. Giving
4. Moved around
5. Stubborn
6. Changed his name
7. Graduated from college
8. Didn't want to go to law school
9. Donated $25,000 to charity
10. From the D.C area
11. Hitchhiked
12. Aoandoned his car
13. Adventurous
14. Crazy
15. Burned all of his cash in his wallet
16. His body was found by moose hunters
17. Independent
18. Buried some of his things and was going to come back to them
19. Lived in Vegas for a little bit
20. Worked at McDonalds

I think Chris' relationship was not very good. I think they got along and everything, I just don't think they had too much in common with each other. He seems like he is the intresting, secretive one in the family. I think from where he grew up in a suburban neghiborhood he didn't get to experience much. So he is doing these advangers to be exciting and do something different in his life. I feel like having a career wasn't his thing and just wanted to travel around and not be serious.

Some motivations behind him doing this would be to be different. Chris might have felt like he was pressured to do something he didn't want to do. He probably just wanted to start a new life without anything or anybody from his past. He wanted to live an exciting life and not just an average life, like other people.

  1. I feel the same way on the part where you said he probably didn't get to experience much as a kid and is now trying to outlive his desires. He was to different from the get go for the normal life.

  2. I don't think that Chris had a good relationship with his parents, either. I think he was pressred to do something, too. I had never thought about him trying to be a kid again, but I think he is, now that you've pointed it out.

  3. i had never really thought of chris being secretive, but that is a good point! whenever he is dealing with personal relationships, he seems to be very secretive, or private.
